Spent the last day of 2010 shooting some sculpture around the house, mostly rock, with a little bronze. If you are interested to see a bit more (including a couple of lighting setup images), please check out the gallery of 23 sculpture images on my website.

The first is "Mrs. Q", one of my grandmother's sculptures that she wouldn't elaborate on. One of my favorites, and the first one she gave me when I was a teenager.

One of my grandmother's other series, all analogies to the struggles that women suffered through the 60's and beyond:

Although this image has some issues I'm not fond of, it highlights the more tenuous side of the guilt metaphor.

A more revealing angle, showing the tenuous nature of guilt and internal struggle (one that I 'found' only after finishing with the piece and setting it in another room).

"Rowdy", one of Sandy's very first horses that we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to buy.

If you are interested in seeing more of Sandy's fantastic work, please go to and tell her I sent you!

  1. Amazing work of your grandmothers! I have never seen her mixed media pieces. very cool, thanks for sharing.

  2. I've always loved "Mrs. Q", and your photo does it justice. Your comments on the "Guilt Ball" were fascinating to me, and you captured the angles beautifully. Great work!
