Saturday morning soccer

The Kickers played a great game this afternoon, to this goalie's chagrin:

Friday Night Lights

Shot some football tonight at NAAC stadium where Arvada West topped Boulder 21-13, while Golden suffered a frustrating inability to move the ball against Dakota Ridge and lost 33-7. Here's a few images...

One light, one kid...

A not-so-quick portrait of Reade (just ask him!); same setup as last night, plus a reflector. Unfortunately, Tate proved to be a better reflector assistant than model, otherwise I'd post one of him, too!

One guitar, one light...

A few images I shot last night playing around with wireless flash and a Lastolite EZYbox diffuser. Nothing special, just watching the light move.

The Warner Family Portrait

Finally after all these years, I got the family out for a proper family portrait! Clear Creek still has some leaves, and the weather has been fantastic for late October.

The Gravelding Family Portrait

Dan and Naomi brought the boys out to Clear Creek for some potential holiday card images. Light was a bit harsh (could've used some high clouds for diffusion), but not too bad...

Elk Rut in Rocky Mtn. National Park

Dan and Mark and I went up to RMNP to see if the elk were still frisky. Had some fun watching'em, and capped it off with lunch at Oskar Blues Brewery in Lyons. Don't miss the video of two male elk sparring at the bottom of this blog post!

Fort de Soto State Park, FL

Had a couple of hours to kill before our flight back home, so Tate and I took a hike around Fort de Soto State Park. The fort had some cool 12-inch mortars that could fire an 800+ pound projectile more than 6 miles! We spent four days in Florida, and didn't get munched by mosquitoes until 3 hours before our flight home. Unfortunately for Tate, we also had quite a bit of time at the airport for him to catch up on homework.

Tate at IronKids Nationals!

Tate and I went to St. Petersburg, FL this week so he could compete in the IronKids National Triathlon Championships. We had a great time, and Tate finished 10th in his age group (and was the fastest of the nine CO athletes in his age group). We couldn't have done it without all the support from many who helped him get here!
